Oh the Places You'll Go...Day 1 Asper Reunion

This year we had most everyone there. My brother Mike and his family were missed, they went to a wedding in Utah. So we had 28 + 1 (a friend, Cade, which he is a great addition, we hope he will come back next year even though we required a lot of craziness this year) So this first Day was "Oh the Places You'll Go" AKA....SILVERWOOD! So in preparation, My mom and I got up real early that morning and made 28 individual sack lunches, ofcourse not one sandwich was the same. Then we ordered 12 pizzas for dinner that night, and made sure all fruit was cut, pop and water was on ice. Alot to get ready for a 10:00 am departure. Starting temperature for the day, around 70 then it soared to around 100 ( we thought we left that in Seattle) Everyone was a trooper. All kids were able to ride atleast one ride. In our family we had a wager for anyone to ride the "Aftershock " Tom would pay them $2. So who took the bait? ELI! our little boy who is scared of bees, birds, cats, dog, oh just about anything that wiggles. To set the stage this ride goes up 191 feet backwards, while you are facing down. Then it drops you so fast so you can get over the 2 hoops and to the other side which takes you up another 191 feet, drops you then you have to do it all again backwards!!!!!! I watched people coming off this ride sick, scared, happy, and relieved! Eli had to drag Tom to go on Aftershock, HIS first ride. We all stood outside of the ride anticipating what Eli and Tom were thinking, and one hour later, both Tom and Eli completed the ride, and both were smiling. Eli loved it, Tom not so much! My older sister Teresa, rode the ride and she was sick for 1/2 the day after, and she could not ride any other rides(boy does age get you!) Eli was the winner for the day. Yep! We paid out the well deserved $2 ( he will never know, but I would have paid up to $10) He went on EVERY Scary ride, except Corkscrew, he said he did not want to go upside down? HELLO! you just dropped 191 feet! He went on Tremors, Panic Plunge, Aftershock twice, Super Round up. Eli was dragging my brother Jon to go on these rides, he just starred at Eli and said "serious" Eli the winner. We stayed at the park until closing, 10pm. We were all very tired.
