2008 Christmas

Ok so we are a little slow at posting. We had a great snowy Christmas. Kids were out of school for 21 days and Tom took work off that turned into 18 days because of post closures. We had a wonderful traditional candlelight dinner on Christmas Eve, acting the Nativity, white elephant, and ofcourse jama time. The next morning after Santa, we opened gifts, and the one from Tom and I was a small box that ofcourse it was opened last. What was it? A small gift that was a massive ontaking for Tom and I . In the box was a puzzle of Mario Kart, and directions saying that special marked puzzles could win, 1st Wii, 2nd a Mario mouse pad, 3rd Mario pen. So as the kids read this the adrenaline was pumping, Tyson knew we were going to win. Kylie noticed that one piece had writing on it. This puzzle took 10 minutes to put together and of course it said"Congratulations you WII_EEN" Now lets give you the background. It started in July of 2008 when we purchased the wii for Christmas, we did not just want them to get it as a gift, but to have to figure it out. So we purchased all the pieces, games, and ofcourse the puzzle. Tom took the puzzle to work and worked on it on his lunch hours....when finished he wrote on the puzzle congratulations you wii-een. Then he made up the fake instructions and fake email. We then had to make a letter official emailed back to them saying they won. So on Christmas morning when they saw they won, they emailed this "email" and waited for about 15 minutes, and then they got the response they won. All kids were screaming and dancing that they won a wii and all we had to do was pay "$7" for the puzzle how lucky are we! If they only knew. The directions said that they would have the wii to us with in 24 hours and they were sneaky that it would be found somewhere in our home. So that was my cue to place a mario kart in the bathroom, because I knew someone would have to go to the bathroom. Well 5 hours later Eli found the wheel, which led into a hunt for the wii. It was fun. They did not figure out that Tom and I set them up and they were telling everyone they got a wii for $7. After so much Tom and I sat them down and told them it was us who bought the we. It was very fun. We have them all on video and taped them before we told them.
